Recipes have been passed down from generation to generation. My Mom and Grand Mother raised my since I was a real kid. Then, like all Italian households, I became her sous chef. At first, grating bread and cheese for the meatballs .. then came the rolling phase .. and, eventually I learned to prepare our home recipes. Well, I still grateful for those times and memories.
Today, we’ve evolved, .. technologically speaking. First came the personal computers, then the web and now, smartphones and notebooks, iPads and iPhones. We’ve even got lots and lots of eBooks and Apps. So, who needs another one. We’ll all of us see a better and maybe more personalized edition .. I do.
I’m still very proud of my Italian Heritage and still favor my traditional Italian favorites. Paulina, my wife, and I have been together since March ’82. So, our repertoire has also evolved.
Both of us, and our son John, enjoy cooking a wide variety of cuisines.
My mission is to create a Papa’s Recipes Web Database Application so that I and anyone else can take it with them and/or access it from anywhere via the web browsers. In addition to the blog, I’ve created a companion App to let you maintain your cookbook independent of the web.
I’m even using a WordPress Plugin for the “Ultimate Recipes” .. literally. More about that and my blog/database app later.
The site is a blog, but its’ so much more. It’s also an application that can be carried with you to maintain your recipes and to share with family and friends. While you can continue to follow us from anywhere, now you can be away and bring it with you, i.e., shopping, cooking or just sharing the recipes, links and photos of your favorites.
I’m also a fan of many sites, ie., YouTube among them. One reason is that it includes lots of recipes with the bonus of a personalized cooking video. These shows help see lots of suggestions, styles and techniques. So, my recipes will include the recipe as as a video tutorial. Seeing is better than reading, eh.
We relocated from NYC to Tucson, AZ in ’99 .. living in Casas Adobas, SaddleBrooke and finally Skyline Country Club Estates
Checkout a very brief video introduction about my life and times .. surfing the web.
I, too, have lots of slideshows with memories and even some of me cooking or dining out. I’m also very proud of our extended family, Mr Lucky (our pet and companion), friends and our beloved home. For lots and lots about us, check out our personal site .. De Lorenzo Times.
Be prepared, and if you don’t like the music .. go mute yourself (lol).
Hey, I want you to try us out and, then see how we’re doing. And, don’t forget, “Mangia”
Thanks for viewing and Ciao,
Papa John (long before he was)
